GO SAN DIEGO CARD- Is it Worth It?

While traveling through California for the second time, we knew we would be close to San Diego around the time of our son’s birthday. Last year we visited Disney and Universal Studios as well as the USS Midway Museum and Belmonte Park.

We knew we wanted to do something different this time in the area. With our son turning 8 years old, we knew Legoland would be perfect for him. We also wanted to visit the world famous San Diego Zoo and maybe even Knotts Berry Farm.

We had already purchased our Legoland tickets; however, hindsight being 20/20 we wished we would have bought the San Diego GO Pass for the entire trip.  But, through some careful planning and discussions, the savings for Knotts Berry Farm and the San

Diego Zoo would be worth the purchase for the 2 day pass.

I paid around $380 for 2 adults and 2 kids passes and we had the option to take part in over 40 attractions.

Some of the attractions included:

Legoland

San Diego Zoo

Knotts Berry Farm

Universal Studios (only on certain passes)

Sea World San Diego

USS Midway Museum

Belmonte Park

Hop On Hop Off Trolley Tour

Go Car Tours

Fleet Science Center

Seal Tours

Birch Aquarium

San Diego Natural History Museum

San Diego Air and Space Museum

Whale Watching by Hornblower Cruises

And Many More!

So how does the Go San Diego Pass Work?

The choice is yours! Buy a pass for 1 day, 2 days, 3 days or 4. Or, you can select the specific activities you wish to do and purchase at a discount a la carte.  The flexibility to choose makes this a great option for anyone spending either a little time in the area or a lot!

Our time was limited so we chose to 2-day pass and only took advantage of Knott’s Berry Farm and the San Diego Zoo! Both were all day attractions and going in February proved to our advantage as the lines were non-existent and we were able to see everything both days. At Knott’s Berry Farm we had to go to the ticket window to get our tickets, but there was no hassle. We just downloaded the app and showed them our e-card and that was it. At the zoo, it was even more simple. We just showed up at the gate, they scanned our QR Code on the e-card and went in to the zoo!

At the zoo, all of the transportation was included such as the bus tour and the skyfari ride. We paid extra for the 4D Rio movie.

The GO SAN DIEGO card is definitely worth the money and it saved our family both money and hassle. Having all of the activities available on one card was convenient!
